[From our family archives] So far, the summer of 2013 has been a hot and sweltering one. Not that I’m complaining. While a nice summer rain is refreshing and awesome to dance around in, I’d rather sunny days that sizzle (even if it’s humid out) to gloomy, dark, and muggy days that tend to dominate rainy summers.
I’ve been ridiculously remiss in updating this blog, and today I just want to share a few photos from a recent jaunt we took to a sand-dropped-in-from-elsewhere (but still fun) little beach along the Upper Delaware River on the NY/NJ/PA border. It ain’t the Jersey Shore or the Hamptons, but it’ll certainly do for helping restless little boys cool off and burn off some energy.
Yes, yes, my boys do in fact get tired of being photographed, especially because I often have them “model” for me when testing something . . . that’s just what happens when your mom’s a portrait photographer.
. . . But sometimes they’re way too engrossed in their joy to even register the camera at all, and those are my favorite moments to capture.
